Online courses now available

Two of the required courses in the TGA curriculum are now available on MTA's Online Learning Portal!  These Webcasts provide convenient, affordable training for busy officials, who can participate from the comfort and convenience of their township hall, office, local library or even at home.

Courses and credit requirements are described below. Online registration is available here. You can also download a faxable form or email rebecca.

How Boards Make Decisions

chesspiecesweb.jpgMaximize the effectiveness of group decisions and learn how "knowledge-based" governance will guide your board to make informed choices with improved outcomes (and less headaches)! This course challenges "old ways of thinking" and gives a refreshing look at the decision-making process that will meld various viewpoints into a consensus decision that everyone is more likely to support.

Making Meetings Work More Effectively

effmtgsweb.jpgStructure your meetings to achieve more in less time! Explore how your board might define its "rules of engagement" so that the meetings will be orderly and productive. Learn how to deal with differences around the board table while staying focused on results. Conflict resolution techniques are also incorporated as part of the training.

Both courses are divided into two parts for which registration is separate. To obtain credit, complete both Parts I & II of the Webcast, submit the standard PAC form and receive a minimum passing score of 70 percent on the quiz offered following Part II of the course.
