Advisory Counsel Opinion

Township officials who are requested to provide verification of the applicability of the Hatch Act can seek an advisory counsel opinion from the US Office of Special Counsel.  For more information click [here].

It is also recommended that township officials notify their employer of the steps they have taken to determine their status as regards to the Hatch Act while waiting for an advisory counsel opinion.
