A township board must establish an investment policy in consultation with the township treasurer. (MCL 129.91)
A township must provide a copy of the township's investment policy to any financial intermediary, broker or dealer, who must acknowledge receipt of the policy and agree to comply before executing an order to purchase or trade the township's funds. (MCL 129.96(2))
A township treasurer must provide a quarterly written report to the township board concerning the investment of township funds. (MCL 129.96(3))
