Recreation and Playgrounds Act, Public Act 156 of 1917, MCL 123.51, et seq.

Authorities and Responsibilities:
To operate a system of public recreation and playgrounds; acquire, equip and maintain land, buildings or other recreational facilities; employ a superintendent of recreation and assistants; vote and expend funds for the operation of such system

Established By:
The township board may:

Appoint a recreation board, or

Act as recreation board, or

Delegate the duties of a recreation board to the elected park commission.
