As MTA's public affairs liaison, Jennifer is charged with developing and delivering a comprehensive public information program designed to maximize the public image of township government, and develop public and membership support for the Association's goals.

 

In addition to serving as point of contact for media inquiries, Jennifer is responsible for issuing press releases on behalf of the Association.  She also contributes columns, including "Capitol Profiles" which profiles lawmakers serving on legislative committees that tackle issues important to townships, and other articles to the Michigan Township News and provides layout for the legislative newsletter Capitol Currents. 

 

To help increase awareness of township government and recognize townships that go above and beyond the status quo in their service to residents, Jennifer has coordinated the development of a new designation program Township of Excellence.  This program recognizes and rewards exemplary township governments that adhere to best practices and deliver quality programs and services to accomplish community-driven goals.

Jennifer is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a B.A. in Organizational Communication with a journalism emphasis.  Before joining MTA in 2007, Hoff worked in the Michigan House of Representatives, serving as regional communications manager in House Republican Communications Services where she won national awards for her media training and public speaking guides.  Prior to that, she was communications coordinator for the "DeVos for Governor" campaign, legislative assistant for former state Sen. Dale Shugars, and communications specialist for the Kalamazoo Christian School Association.
