MTA is a nonprofit association that provides assistance to member township officials. MTA is an information and education service provider and is not an investigative or enforcement organization.

For general information on township laws, you may wish to visit a local library or go online and research the Michigan Compiled Laws; otherwise, for specific legal advice you should contact your personal attorney.

Various state agencies that are taxpayer supported provide information to the public.

Michigan Department of Treasury

For information on financial matters such as taxes, budgeting and accounting or lawful expenditures.

Michigan Attorney General

The Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General's office helps consumers each year by mediating complaints that fall within their jurisdiction.

Michigan State Boundary Commission

The State Boundary Commission Unit administers statutes related to land development.

Michigan Department of State

Information on elections in Michigan.
