
Tom monitors, researches and analyzes legislation affecting township government and works for the passage or defeat of various legislative bills or amendments. He also represents the interests of MTA members before various house and senate sessions and legislative committee meetings specializing in environmental and election issues. In addition, he handles federal issues for MTA and works with the MTA-PAC Committee to make legislative endorsements.
With more than a decade of legislative experience Tom served as regional director for former U.S. Senator Spencer Abraham from 1995 to 2001, prior to joining MTA in March, 2001.
A former legislative aide to state representatives Sue and Sal Rocca and Lyn Banks, Frazier also worked as a special assistant to the House Republican Leader and served briefly as a staff assistant to State Senator Doug Cruce. He served as the assistant to former Lansing Mayor Jim Crawford in 1993. He also served as a community liaison specialist with the Wayne County Executive office. Tom received a bachelor’s degree in political science and public administration from Michigan State University.
