
The Michigan Townships Association’s
MTA Listserv is designed to provide townships with a network to share information, facilitate mutual assistance on township-related issues, and to promote communication between Michigan township governments.

Requesting assistance or information from other townshipsIntergovernmental cooperation
Outreach and networking with other township governmentsInformation-sharing on Internet or technology resourcesLegislative issues related to township government, including information on key legislative bills in Michigan.Subscribers to the MTA Listserv can post messages to the entire subscriber list. Messages are delivered to subscribers as the messages are generated, within one to 20 minutes of the original posting.
Important: To ensure that each subscriber receives your message when you reply to a posting, select the "Reply to All" option in your email window. This may be a menu item under the "Actions" menu or it may appear as a button or tab in your email window, depending on the software you are using.
Michigan Townships Association’s MTA Listserv PolicyThe MTA Listserv is an “unmoderated” mailing list, which means that messages are posted to the entire list for immediate distribution and not edited in any way. MTA staff view messages as they are posted, but refrain from comment unless a staff member feels there is sufficient reason to clarify an issue or correct erroneous information. MTA will also post information to the list as needed on issues that may be of immediate interest to its membership.
Any person posting a message on the MTA Listserv shall be fully and solely responsible and liable for the content and accuracy of any message posted. The Michigan Townships Association does not review or edit messages posted to the MTA Listserv, and the MTA shall not be responsible for messages posted on MTA Listserv by another person.
Subscribers should not post any copyrighted information. You may provide a link to licensed uses of copyrighted information.
Any subscriber posting unsubstantiated and libelous materials or defaming another individual in a manner that may cause or contribute to litigation will be removed from the list permanently. Persons posting inappropriate, off-topic messages, profanity or other disruptive conduct on the list are subject to removal from the list
