Under Public Act 106 of 2007, The Public Employees Health Benefit Act, certain conditions are placed on how public employers, including townships, may provide medical benefits for their officials and employees. While townships are not required by law to provide medical benefits, if a township chooses to do so, it must comply with the applicable provisions of state law. MTA's Public Employees Health Benefit Act Web page includes information on bidding requirements, and has also been updated with advice on the process from the State of Michigan. |
