Nancy Heck, Winsor Township (Huron Co.) treasurer, has been appointed to the Michigan Townships Association (MTA) Board of Directors. Heck will represent MTA District 14, which encompasses Huron and Tuscola Counties.
Heck brings decades of local government experience to her new role helping to lead the largest municipal association in the state. She served as township deputy supervisor for a decade, beginning in 1975. She worked in the Huron County Treasurer’s Office for seven years, and was elected township treasurer in 2000. In addition, she was township assessor for 15 years, until 2020, and has served on the Pigeon District Library Board since 1999, where she has held the roles of secretary, vice president and president. She is also secretary of the Huron County MTA Chapter.
“We are thrilled to welcome Nancy to the MTA Board,” said 2021 MTA President Peter Kleiman, supervisor of Harris Township (Menominee Co.). “With her life-long career dedicated to local government, we look forward to the insights and experiences she will bring to our organization and membership.”
