Get the Recognition You Deserve!
MTA administers a scholarship fund established in memory of Robert R. Robinson, former executive director of the Association. The purpose of the scholarship fund is to help college students in Michigan who are preparing for a career in public administration.
Administered by the National Association of Towns and Township, the Grassroots Government Leadership Award recognizes a township official for his or her outstanding contributions while serving local government and the community. Winners receive recognition at the NATaT annual conference, "America's Town Meeting" held in September each year in Washington, D.C.
Coming in 2008--A New Program to Recognize Townships of Excellence
Township government has thrived because of the courage, commitment and vision of township boards across the state. A new recognition program is under development by the Michigan Townships Association to recognize and designate townships of excellence. Look for more details in 2008!
