Action Plan for Deploying Broadband Internet to Michigan Local Governments (.pdf)Technology Deployment Action Plan OverviewBecause of the importance of delivering affordable broadband to all Michigan’s residents and to enhance township government services and efficiencies through computer technology, MTA has partnered with several state agencies and other Michigan-based organizations to help stimulate technology initiatives, including high speed Internet access, Web site development and many other related issues.
MTA participates in many technology-based activities including:
Meeting with staff from the Michigan Rural Broadband Authority
Involvement with the governor’s Centers for Regional Excellence project
Serves on the conference advisory board for the annual Michigan Digital Government Summit, sponsored by Government Technology magazine.
Collaborates with state government technology leadership focus groups sponsored by the Michigan Department of Information's Technology Office of Local Government Partnerships.
MTA's technology deployment action plan will help provide resources and educate township leaders on how to actively pursue technology-based issues including broadband, Web site development and through information sharing with state departments and agencies and other state and federal technology groups.
