Shelley plans and coordinates the Association's educational programming, including workshops, District Meetings, the Township Governance Academy, and MTA's Annual Educational Conference. She provides on-site meeting coordination, and also contributes to the Michigan Township News, MTA's Web site and Newswire on educational events.

She earned her associates degree in Business Management from Davenport University in 1989 and, more recently, the CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) designation in 2004. Prior to joining MTA in 2002, she worked in the financial, human resources and human services industries.
