MTA's 66th Annual Conference & Expo is coming to Grand Rapids on April 1-4, 2019

Offering insightful general sessions, a huge expo and dozens of educational breakouts designed to help you solve the problems you face on a day-to-day basis, this event is one you won't want to miss! With  600 rooms on-site and nearly 300 more connected via skywalk, this year’s event will be buzzing with activity. Enjoy fine dining or quick to-go style meals, relax in your down time at the pool or spa, or venture into the surrounding areas to explore the thriving downtown, famed local breweries, and much more.

Business casual dress is appropriate for all events. Due to fluctuations in room temperature, MTA encourages you to bring a sweater or suit coat for your comfort.  

Cancellation & Substitution
A Conference registration may be transferred to another individual (from the same township) for a $10 administrative fee. Refund of the registration fee, less a $25 administrative fee, will be made if notice is received in writing by the early bird deadline. Written cancellation requests received after the early bird deadline but before the regular rate deadline will be subject to an administrative fee equal to one half of the registration fee. No refunds will be made thereafter or for no-shows. See the Conference brochure for hotel cancellation policies.

Confirmation & Credentials
A confirmation of your registration will be emailed before the Conference if you are registered at least three weeks prior to the Conference. If you do not receive your confirmation by March 19, call MTA at (517) 321-6467. All attendees must check in at the MTA Registration Center.

Housing & Registration
Similar to last year, you MUST register for the Conference prior to booking your housing. Once you are registered, you will receive a housing confirmation code, which is required in order to book your hotel room. Only one room will be allowed per housing code, to ensure that those registered for the event have priority access to hotel rooms.

Conference registration will begin two weeks prior to the opening of Housing Reservations to allow adequate time for attendees to register. A block of hotel rooms and suites has been reserved at the Amway Grand Plaza, as well as multiple other nearby hotels, for MTA Conference attendees. Each hotel offers unique amenities, discounted rates and convenient networking opportunities. Hotel details and the hotel reservation form will appear in the Conference brochure.

Optional Events
Pre-Conference events on Monday, April 1 may be added to your main-Conference registration or purchased separately. Admission to the MTA Banquet on Wednesday, April 3 is included with main-Conference and guest registrations ONLY. Additional banquet tickets may be purchased on the Conference registration form. Admission to guest tours must be purchased separately prior to Conference.

Public parking is available below the DeVos Place and other areas around Grand Rapids. Further details will be provided.

Photography Release
By registering for this event, attendees grant permission to MTA to utilize the attendee’s image or likeness to promote MTA and/or the MTA Annual Conference & Expo. Attendees waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product(s), copy or other matter that may be used in connection therewith or the use to which it may be applied.

Registration Center
All attendees must check in at the MTA Registration Center to pick up your registration materials and name badge. Details on Registration Center hours and location will be posted when available.

Registration Rates
Registration rates for Conference delegates and guests will appear in the Conference brochure.
Main conference: Includes Tuesday and Wednesday educational sessions, Networking Lounge, Bendzinski’s “3-D” pre-Conference festivities, Opening Session, Expo, Par Plan Fun Night, General Session, the MTA Banquet and Burnham & Flower Insurance Group’s Afterglow Reception.
Pre-Conference programs: Additional fees are required; see the Conference brochure for session descriptions.
Single-day only: Includes that day’s educational sessions, Networking Lounge and Expo.
Note: Attendees or guests cannot attend any workshops or pre-Conference sessions unless registered as an attendee for the appropriate day or event.

Attendees with special dietary or accessibility needs should notify Kristin at (517) 321-6467, or email at least three weeks prior to Conference. Accessibility requests related to hotel guest rooms should be noted when making your reservation via the paper hotel form or housing website.
