Bennett, who has been clerk since 1996, has served on the MTA Board of Directors since 2009. She represents township officials in Lapeer, Oakland and Macomb Counties as District 21 director on the Board.

“It is both an honor and a privilege to be MTA treasurer,” Bennett said. “I am very thankful to be part of this incredible team. MTA and its members never cease to amaze me. This is a strong organization with a mission of moving township government into the future through education and advocating legislation. I’m humbled to be a small part of the team to further that mission.”

Bennett was elected clerk after serving four years on the township planning commission. Since 1998, Bennett has served on the Oxford Addison Youth Assistance Board of Directors. She also volunteers her time as needed as a reporter for the local cable television station and the free meals program in Oxford.

Bennett obtained a zoning administrator certificate in 2012, has been a master citizen planner since 2007, and became a certified municipal clerk in 2003.
