Golden Township (Oceana Co.) Treasurer Connie Cargill was elected secretary of the Michigan Townships Association (MTA) Executive Committee at the Association’s Annual Meeting, conducted during the MTA Annual Educational Conference & Expo, April 1-4 in Grand Rapids. Cargill, who has served as treasurer since 1995, was first elected to the MTA Board of Directors in 2012.

“I am truly honored to continue representing township officials as MTA secretary,” Cargill said. “I love serving others, whether it’s my local residents or township officials throughout the state. It’s a responsibility I don’t take lightly.”

Cargill previously served as a deputy treasurer and is retired from the Oceana County Drain Office. She is currently a member of the Oceana County Land Bank Authority Board, and treasurer of the Oceana County MTA Chapter. Cargill is also a board member of the Oceana Agricultural Society and light horse superintendent for the Oceana County Fair.
